Message You are correct in that I would like to do some of this work myself. I didn't think a full long block from kyle was necessary at this point. I made 483 hp on this engine just last November and it runs great...I mostly want to replace the bearings for peace of mind considering the mileage. I have the motor out all ready anyways to fix a few oil leaks and install ashspec planar intake pipes.

If I remember correctly the stock rods use studs and nuts instead of bolts...did you mean I should replace the studs and nuts?

Perhaps I will be able to do the bearings from below the stand or maybe with the engine rotated 45 degrees or so.

If you think the pistons would need to be replaced then I probably won't bother with it for now. I would like to build up the engine someday and install larger turbos but I just got done installing new stock turbos and having it dyno tuned so I'd like to keep this setup for a while. If you don't think a hone and new rings would help compression then I will just hold off on that stuff and just do the bearings for now.

I just did the 120k kit a few thousand miles ago but since the timing belt is coming off anyways for the bearings a new oil pump could be done.
